■ 23/05/08 - Wits and Wagers You’ve just got to love Xbox Live Arcade. Here, you can find just about any type of game you’re looking for. You want a fast-paced space shooter? You’ve got Ikaruga. You want an arcade classic? Go grab yourself a copy of Dig Dug. There’s basically a little something for everyone. But what if you’re looking for a party trivia game you can play with friends who just aren’t all that adept at random trivia?
■ 19/05/08 - Wits and Wagers Who’s smarter: The brainiac who knows everything, or the second guy - who knows how to take all of Mr. Einstein’s money? That’s the basic gist of this quiz game, which starts with trivia and adds in a healthy dose of Vegas-style gambling. Oh, and dancing marionettes with cartoon heads. You need those too.
■ 15/05/08 - Wits and Wagers For a trivia game to be fun it has to have three elements - a unique premise that players want to revisit, the ability to keep all participants actively involved from start to finish, and most importantly, great questions. A game might be able to get away with the first two but without the third, a battle of wits against friends quickly becomes pointless and dull. A case in point is the recently released Wits and Wagers for XBLA which is long on wagers, short on wits.
■ 13/05/08 - Wits and Wagers With a title that sounds like a smug Radio 4 panel game, possibly involving Sandi Toksvig, Wits & Wagers is aiming for that fabled and oh-so-desirable casual gamer, but seems at a loss as to how best to appeal to this audience.
