■ 24/08/07 - Golden Axe I remember seeing Golden Axe for the first time in the bowling-alley/arcade in my hometown in New Hampshire, and I immediately knew that this was the game for me. My boy Sharkey and I spent hour after hour pumping our hard-earned quarters (bagging groceries, it’s fantastic!) into the game, despite the fact that the game took less than an hour to beat. The game has stayed with me ever since, thanks to assorted MAME programs and emulators that…um, a friend showed me once.
■ 01/08/07 - Golden Axe Following in the footsteps of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Double Dragon is another great arcade brawler for Xbox Live Arcade. Golden Axe was one of the earliest weapons-based beat-em-ups in arcades, and remains one of the best out there.
