Après nous avoir fait redécouvrir la série Art of Fighting à la fin du mois de mai dernier, la firme de Kyoto poursuit sans relâche ses adaptations sur PlayStation 2. Cette rentrée, c’est Garo Densetsu / Fatal Fury qui passe sur le billard avec un premier volume regroupant pas moins de 4 épisodes ! Les loups sont de retour et ils sont affamés.

■ 13/11/07 - Fatal Fury : Battle Archives Volume 1 The release of this game has me utterly flummoxed. I just don’t get it. Is there some rabid Fatal Fury fan base that I’m not aware of? Is there an underground cult following of loyal Fatal Fury-ers sparking grass roots rallies to keep the franchise alive? Do they write letters demanding their beloved Fatal Fury titles not only be reissued for newer game systems, but be compiled into volumes of collections so they can seamlessly matriculate from one dated game to the next without the hassle of actually having to change discs?
■ 12/10/07 - Fatal Fury : Battle Archives Volume 1 There is one indomitable fact that we must convey to you - a fact that far exceeds the importance of any other piece of information we have in our possession about this particular title. And though it may not seem to be exceedingly relevant, in the grand scheme of things, we can assure you that the urgency in reporting this to you is paramount: Geese Howard is a complete bastard. With that said, we can breathe a sigh of relief and get back to our review.
■ 04/09/07 - Fatal Fury Battle Archives Volume 1 This is one of those games that we love to see. It appeals to a very specific subset of gamers, no question – if you don’t remember Fatal Fury games fondly, there’s nothing for you here – but it’s a nice collection for those of us who like a good, 2D fighting throwdown now and then.
■ 23/08/07 - Fatal Fury : Battle Archives Volume 1 Anyone who has spent an abnormally lengthy amount of time at their local arcade back in the 80s will tell you that it takes more than a handful of quarters to get to that one final boss that will - within seconds - make a mockery out of your fighting skills.
