Geometry Wars: Galaxies was an excellent game with many original features and if you are a fan of that particular flavour of arcade shooter then you should enjoy XG Blast!, which is at its most basic premise comparable from a design and control point of view. The saying goes that emulation is the ultimate form of flattery, although some argue that anything mirrored will ultimately lack the originality that made the subject of emulation so popular and well respected. One thing is for sure though; a fun and entertaining game deserves to be played, whichever way you look at it. Let's see if Rising Star Games were right to bring XG Blast! to our shores.

■ 06/03/09 - XG Blast! Pew pew pew go the space lasers. Boom boom boom go the enemies. Wobble wobble wobble goes the fluctuating deep space background. Grow grow grow goes the score multiplier. Stop us if you’ve heard this one before.
