Il est vrai que Madden disposant des licences exclusives, il est difficile de proposer un concurrent crédible, surtout que le jeu d'Electronic Arts s'avère très réussi. Midway nous propose donc un nouvel opus de son Blitz the League, un jeu violent et parfois subversif. Certains pourront voir Blitz comme un mélange de combat et de foot US. Il est vrai que le titre a pour le moins simplifié les règles du sports. On ne s'enbarasse pas de moult combinaisons de jeu à retenir, Blitz va droit à l'essentiel.
