■ 27/06/08 - Battle of the Bands Ah les jeux de musique.

■ 27/06/08 - Battle of the Bands It was only a matter of time before the Guitar Hero knockoffs started coming down in full force, and THQ has answered the bell with great ferocity. Battle of the Bands comes down hard, almost as though its sole mission is to remove any joy found in music-based rhythm games. However, that’s not giving the game enough credit. It seeks to remove any joy found in motion-based gaming as well, while promoting racial and cultural stereotypes at the same time. This game is a hat trick of awful.
■ 25/06/08 - Battle of the Bands Ever since Harmonix proved there were millions to be made in the rhythm and music genre with the meteoric rise of the original Guitar Hero, a war has waged between game developers looking to launch the next hot music game. Of course, Harmonix moved beyond the guitar and assembled a full-on band with their latest hit, Rock Band, while Neversoft picked up the reigns to Guitar Hero III and kept gamers rocking all night. While those two franchises represent the apex of this formerly niche genre, there’s plenty of competition looking to make a name for itself. Into the fray comes Planet Moon’s Battle of the Bands.

■ 31/05/08 - Battle of the Bands Battle of the Bands from Planet Moon Studio’s is an elaborate experiment to answer the question, “Would Guitar Heroes be fun without the guitar?” The answer: Not really. True to the company being who they are – the talent behind the genuinely funny Giants: Citizen Kabuto and Armed and Dangerous – there are some elements that are truly ingenious and noteworthy features, but they are ultimately fluff that cannot save an inherently monotonous core.
■ 23/05/08 - Battle of the Bands To the tune of Blitzkrieg Bop, a gang of hillbillies bang double-barreled banjos against an undead Mexican trio known as "Scaryachi". Next, an edgy goth group trades the notes of Feel Good Inc. with a peppy, baton-twirling marching band. Bullet barrages, lightning bolts and grenades arc across either side of the stage, each products of timely Wiimote wagging on your end.
■ 19/05/08 - Battle of the Bands Given the popularity of the Guitar Heroes and Rock Bands of the world, game companies need to be a little creative in order to make a new music game stand out from the crowd. THQ has come up with a clever gimmick for its new Wii-exclusive title, Battle of the Bands: musical mash-ups.

■ 05/05/08 - Battle of the Bands Aside from some troubles nailing back-to-back notes on the same side of the beat scroll, the Wii Remote controls function well enough, utilizing basic left, right, and down movements, with the occasional stabbing motion or frantic shake to match the on-screen indicators. But the simple gameplay comes off as bland and monotonous, not to mention tiring.
