■ 02/05/08 - WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 The SmackDown Vs. Raw series has been around for a while. With its long-since forgotten relatives WCW/nWo World Tour and WCW/nWo Revenge on the N64, THQ’s wrestling formula hasn’t changed all that much from those days. It may have a new coat of paint and an updated roster, but SmackDown Vs. Raw 2008 can’t hold a candle to the original wrestling games that fans played to death when they were released.

Like the other writers here, my relationship with professional wrestling began as a child in the ‘80s, fascinated by the wild costumes and moves, becoming less interested as time marched on. I don’t dislike it; it’s simply not an interest of mine. My experience with wrestling games follows a similar trajectory, only I stuck with them a while longer.
■ 11/02/08 - WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 Who would have thought, right? Aren’t you just simply amazed that the guy with the WWE logo on his T-Shirt in his caricature for AustralianGamer got to review the latest installment? Actually, I was not amazed when no one else on the team asked to review the game, as Wrestling itself is actually an acquired taste.
■ 08/02/08 - WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 Since the rise of the Attitude era, wrestling video games have experienced a huge surge in popularity. Wrestling game fans are amongst the most rabid and demanding gamers you’ll ever meet; they’re really quite scary. The WWE Smackdown! vs. Raw series are arguably the most popular wrestling title around, though last year’s Xbox 360 debut was less than memorable.
