■ 22/09/08 - Snk Arcade Classics Vol. 1 This may be the first official collection of SNK’s “greatest hits” games on one disc but it certainly isn’t the first time we’ve seen these games outside of a Neo-Geo cartridge and there lies the only real problem with this collection.

■ 17/09/08 - SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1 The NeoGeo lives on in SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1. This new collection for the Nintendo Wii features 16 classic arcade games of uneven quality for an affordable price. If you spent any amount of time in arcades as a kid or a teen, this game will take you back. However, you might find that not all of your memories are good ones.

■ 12/09/08 - SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1 SNK has a long history in the gaming industry. Unfortunately, the only way to play a good number of their titles was to go to the arcade or own either the expensive cartridge-based AES or CD-based home system. The $200 price point of the cartridges and the late release of the CD system meant that solid ports remained out of the hands for many. Until fairly recently, the arcades were by far the best chance any gamer had at playing sound versions of the titles.

■ 18/08/08 - SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 is a compilation of classic Neo-Geo games at their best, thanks to a lack of slowdown and support for various controllers, including the GameCube pad. ■ 09/06/08 - SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1 As stated in one of my previous reviews, the day of the compilation has arrived. Many game companies that have been with us for years have elected to pull together an assortment of their old titles that are no longer making any money and offer them to gamers in an attempt to squeeze a few extra bucks out of them. For nostalgia fans, this can be either a great boon or a serious blow. All too often, we find ourselves looking back on our youth and fondly recalling memories associated with a given game … and all too often, we play those games again only to realize just how sub-par they really were. SNK Playmore has decided to throw its hat into the ring with SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1, and the result is a very mixed bag indeed......
■ 06/06/08 - SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1 In a bar in a dangerous district in Tokyo, a muscular man steps into a bar filled with gang members and proceeds to break a bottle over the heads of anyone dumb enough to attack him. Half way across the world in Brazil, an attractive and very busty young woman is locked in battle with a mercenary that wishes to win the underground fighting competition. Deep in an unknown jungle, a lone soldier fights off waves of enemy soldiers with but a handful of grenades and a machine gun while in space a fighter ship helps defend our planet. These scenarios are but a small taste of what you’ll expect from the compilation of classic games found in SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 for the PlayStation 2
