The riches of the new world attracted the jealousy of rival nations, and the ambitions of lawless men of plunder, to whom work was a waste of time, and the easy life was all that mattered. The brothers of the coast, as they called themselves, sailed, plundered and fought all through the Caribbean, in an age we now call the age of piracy.
■ 05/07/05 - Port Royale 2 The setting of Port Royale 2 is the Caribbean in the 16th and 17th century in the time of expansion, sea commerce, pirates and the occasional skirmish between the English, French, Spanish and Dutch colonies.
■ 13/02/05 - Port Royale 2 Port Royale 2 is an economic, trading, seafaring, land-owning, goods-producing sim from the good folks at Ascaron Entertainment. While it does take a good amount of time to really get the hang of how all the mechanics fit together, once you get a little past the surface, it sports a surprising amount of depth. However, the sheer amount of time necessary to explore all the available features may serve to scare some people off, particularly those who view economic sims as nothing more than glorified spreadsheets.
