■ 08/02/08 - Barnyard Traditionally speaking, videogames based on movies rarely ever achieve anything other than being mere cash cows. Perhaps, then, it would surprise a few people to learn that Barnyard – based on the kid’s film of the same name – is surprisingly fun. If you haven’t already picked up the Gamecube version of the game already, you may be pleasantly surprised with this Wii incarnation, which incorporates some engaging use of the Wii remote.
■ 28/06/07 - Barnyard Taking a Nickelodeon movie and turning it into an open world video game obviously inspired by GTA and the genre it helped establish is almost as bizarre as creating a movie centered around male cows with udders, who squirt milk at each other for fun and games! With that established, all bets are apparently off - and on a side note, I would hate to have been a parent when this movie was released!
■ 11/05/07 - Barnyard Last fall, Nickelodeon released a game tie-in to accompany their CGI film, Barnyard. The game was released on the last-gen consoles, and received a fair amount of praise for its pseudo-sandbox styling, and innovative gameplay. Almost a half a year later, and Nickelodeon is trying once again to cash in on the very same cow, with a near-identical port of the original that as been tailored to utilize the Wii’s unique control system – with less than stellar results.
■ 14/04/07 - Barnyard While Grand Theft Auto’s go-anywhere, do-anything gameplay certainly has a lot of appeal, its gritty subject matter prevents it from making strides in the younger market. However, with the release of Barnyard for the Wii, kids will be able to enjoy a watered down replica of GTA’s concept via a male cow (like, with udders) and a farm full of whacky animals that all walk and talk like humans.
■ 05/04/07 - Barnyard THQ put some effort into the Wii version of Barnyard so it stands out above their previous releases, with motion sensitive controls and sharper graphics.
■ 31/03/07 - Barnyard It?s a mini-game party, I just hope you like farm animals. In Barnyard from Blue Tongue Studios, fun and anarchy is had by playing a milk-squirting cow who is new to the farm.
